Gvt. mulls plans to realize EDR project soon

Plans to develop a closed-circuit digital radion communication system for the emergency services may be put back on the agenda, with the Prime Minister?s Office expected to publish a tender before the end of the year, Napi Gazdaság reported. During the Orbán administration, the project got as far as an invitation for bids, however the contract was eventually not signed. The new plan is that the state would buy the sercvice instead of becoming the owner of the system. Plans for the EDR system have existed for nearly a decade. Several potential candidates for developing the are waiting for the project to kick off, including Motorola, Nokia and Siemens.
