GVH fines Vodafone over adverts

Hungary's Competition Office (GVH) has fined Vodafone Hungary Rt Ft 10 million for misleading consumers, GVH said yesterday. GVH said Vodafone Hungary failed to note in advertisements for its "VitaMax Dumabérlet" package that the clients who signed up for the package would automatically be switched to the "VitaMax Uno" package, which charges some higher tariffs, when the "VitaMax Dumabérlet" package expires. GVH explained the relatively large size of the fine citing three earlier fine for the same offense levied on Vodafone in 2004. (Econews; Nb 16)
