GVH fines Vodafone for misleading advertising

The Competition Office (GVH) has fined Vodafone Hungary Ft 10 million for misleading consumers, GVH announced on Wednesday. The office said Vodafone failed to note in advertisements for its VitaMax Dumabérlet package that clients who signed up for the package would automatically be switched to the VitaMax Uno package, which charges higher tariffs, when the Dumabérlet package expires. The GVH explained the relatively large size of the fine citing three earlier fines for the same offense levied on Vodafone in 2004.
