GVH believe new law a success

The Competition Office (GVH) claims to have met success with strict laws introduced last year to eliminate the practice of intentionally restricting competition, explains GVH Chief Audit Officer Árpád Hargitai. The increased amounts of fines, he explains, have deterred companies from breaching the law. Some companies, however, are recidivists, which is taken into consideration when imposing fines.  Such firms include Budapest Bank Rt and Pick Szeged Rt, which have both been recently fined Ft 5 million.
