Hungary's Graphisoft, a maker of architecture software, has joined the Business Software Alliance (BSA), an organisation that educates consumers about illegal software use, Graphisoft and BSA announced on Thursday. Graphisoft is the tenth Hungarian company to join the alliance, but, being the first Hungarian software developer, it will be an example to others, according to BSA. According to the BSA's figures, about 44% of software use in Hungary is illegal, compared to an EU average of 35%. In fact, Hungary was the only new member state where illegal software use increased after accession. Illegal software use cost software makers
$126 million in 2004, up from $96 million the year before.
