Gov’t invites new bids for Budapest Airport

Hungary today invited new bids in a repeat sale of Budapest Airport Rt, operator of Ferihegy international airport, after the previous sale was canceled following a September court ruling that declared it invalid. The State Privatization and Holding (ÁPV) Rt, in an advertisement placed in today's issue of Napi Gazdaság, invited new bids for a 75% minus one vote in Budapest Airport and a 75-year license to operate and develop the airport. Hungary received offers as high as Ft 390 billion forint ($1.9 billion) from BAA Plc, Fraport AG, Copenhagen Airports A/S, Hochtief AG and Macquarie Airports in the previous sale.
