German low-budget airline Germanwings is negotiating with the airport in Sármellék about launching a Balaton flight, news portal origo.hu reported. Also, the company, which has been in operation in Hungary for two years, plans to double the number of the Budapest-Stuttgart flights from next summer, said CEO Joachim Klein in an interview with news portal mfor.hu. He said the Hungarian market, the first one they ever entered in the region, is the most important for them in Eastern Europe, so despite excessively high airport taxes at Ferihegy Airport the company is not considering an exit any time soon. According to the company?s annual survey, 42 % of its passengers are businessmen, mainly from Germany.
