Hydro Globus Consulting Kft, supported by Lánchid Holding, plans to build hydroelectric power generators on the rivers Rába, Körös and Hernád with a Ft 4.5 billion investment. The plants would be of 1.7 MW - 1.8 MW capacity each. At present the Rába project is the most advanced. Construction will probably start as early as this year, managing director Gusztáv Kapuváry told daily Világgazdaság. The turbines planned beside the dam on the Körös at Békésszentandrás will have to be tendered by water authorities since the local municipality also offered to build. Water authorities told Világgazdaság that they have still to examine potential effects of the planned developments. (Wed-Vg 1, 11) K.H.
