Hungary's general government, excluding local councils, registered a GFS cash flow-based deficit of Ft 2.1 billion in October after Ft 63 billion in September, bringing the ten-month deficit to Ft 1,062 billion, according to preliminary figures published by the Finance Ministry on Monday. The preliminary figure compares to the ministry's Ft 46 billion deficit forecast for October.
Central budget had a surplus of Ft 42.2 billion as opposed to the deficit forecast of 2.8 billion and separate state funds reached a surplus of Ft 7.1 billion almost double of the Ft 3.9 billion forecast. Deficit in social insurance funds, however, was above the expected Ft 47.1 billion at Ft 51.4 billion in October.
