The US unit of Hungarian IT company Freesoft has won a contract to upgrade the database and IT system of one of the world's biggest car rental companies together with Oracle, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported. The big order comes just three months after Freesoft set up its unit in the US state of Virginia. The first phase of the upgrade will be completed already by September. Freesoft marketing director Ibolya Domak would not reveal the value of the contract, citing business confidentiality. She did say, however, that the contract was worth less than one-tenth of Freesoft's revenue in 2004, but enough to cover the startup capital and first-year operating costs of the US unit.
