Fornetti plans Ft 850 mln expansion

Fornetti Kft, a maker of frozen pastry products which are baked and sold at franchise outlets, plans an Ft 850 million expansion at its plant in Kecskemét, the company announced. The plan was announced by master pastry chef and Fornetti owner József Palásti yesterday. Fornetti's plant will nearly double in size to 5,000 sqm, significantly boosting capacity. Freezer capacity will also be expanded and a logistics unit built onto the plant. Last year Fornetti had sales of nearly Ft 6 billion. Hungary's 2,500 Fornetti franchises sell 1,200 tons of the pastries every month. Fornetti employs 500 people directly, and has several franchises in other EU countries.
