Five-month trade deficit down Euro 967.2 million

Hungary's foreign trade deficit was Euro 1,065.8 million in the first five month of 2005, down Euro 967.2 million from the same period one year earlier, Central Statistics Office (KSH) announced. Five-month exports were up 12 % year-on-year to Euro 19,192.4 million, while imports increased 5.7 % to Euro 20,258.2 million. In May alone exports rose 12.2 % year-on-year to Euro 3,997.4 million and imports increased 5.7 % to Euro 4,114.9 million. The resulting deficit was Euro 116.7 million in May, Euro 121.8 million less than in the same month last year.
