Filtronic to open plant in Hungary

Another international electronics manufacturer is coming to Hungary, the business daily Világgazdaság reported. Britain?s Filtronic Plc., a manufacturer of microwave subsystems used in wireless communications systems and in the military industry, will open a production plant in Hungary before the year?s end, CEO John Roulston confirmed. The move will increase the company?s output and will also make it less dependent on its Chinese plant for cheap production. The expected cost of the investments, which will create 100 jobs initially, aounts to several million pounds. In preparation for the move, Filtronic has already set up a Hungarian subsidiary, Filtronic Comtek Hungary Kft, with capital of Ft 3 million. Filtronic is among the world?s leading suppliers of base stations and mobile transmitters.
