The opposition party Fidesz has called on the government to halt the privatization of Malév National Airlines Rt, on grounds that the finance minister had ties to representatives of high bidder AirBridge, the party's website reported. Campaign chief Antal Rogán said his party would initiate a parliamentary investigation if the deal was not stopped. He added that Finance Minister János Veres and Peter Leonov, a board member of AirBridge, were "good friends at university." On Monday, Veres denied allegations that he was lobbying for AirBridge, 49% owned by KrasAir, a Russian company, and said that neither he personally, nor his businesses had any contact with the bidder.
