Artificial fertilizer maker Fertilia has completed a new Ft 80 million mixing and packaging plant in Enying, near Lake Balaton, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported on Tuesday. The company financed the project with its own resources. Fertilia plans to build six more plants similar to the one in Enying by 2008, managing director Péter Simon told the paper. He added that overall demand for fertilizer in Hungary is decreasing, but Fertilia is producing for the nitrogen-phosphor-potassium-based fertilizer segment under a new technology, rather than just offering simple nitrogen fertilizers. Based on test production going on since late August, the company will produce about 9,000 tons of fertilizer at the new plant already by the end of the year and plans to double output next year Fertilia had net revenue of Ft 4.5 billion in 2004, which it aims to match this year, Simon said.
