Wood processor Falco Rt will close its factory in Szentgotthárd, west Hungary, at the end of this year and moves production to Szombathely, west Hungary, CEO Lajos Fekete told to Napi Gazdaság. The Szentgotthárd factory can not be extended and does not meet environmental regulations, Fekete said. Falco had talks with Szentgotthárd municipality about saving the jobs of 70 employees, however, building a new plant in Szentgotthárd would have cost too much, Fekete said. Employees who are willing to commute to Szombathely will be offered a job, he added.
