Ex-Gazprom executive is Hungary's Richest

Mikhail Rahimkulov, a former executive at OAO Gazprom, is Hungary's richest man with a personal wealth of Ft 83 bln ($397 mln), according to a list compiled by the daily Népszabadság published today. Rahimkulov is followed by OTP Bank Rt. Chairman and Chief Executive Sándor Csányi with Ft 60 bln and Sándor Demján, a real estate developer, with Ft 50 bln, the newspaper said. Rahimkulov has lived in Hungary since 1994. He owns Általános Értékforgalmi Bank Rt. and is in the process of buying Gazprom's remaining 25.5% stake in the Hungarian lender, which was once fully owned by the Russian gas company. His other investments include broadcaster Antenna Hungaria Rt., tilemaker Zalakerámia Rt. and chemicals maker Borsodchem Rt.
