The European Committee is examining the compliance to the EU directives of the Hungarian tobacco law modification passed in June, which enables - under certain circumstances - the advertisement of tobacco products, daily Népszava reported. The complaint has been submitted by the Budapest based organization Smoke Annulators Fund saying that the law modification evades the EU regulation which prohibits the sponsorship and advertising of tobacco companies. The Parliament has passed the bill, and GKM is convinced that the Hungarian regulation is fully compliant with the EU directives.
