The Q1 after-tax profit of drugmaker Egis Rt jumped 145% on the previous year due to a hike in Russian sales and domestic panic buying before the 2005 price hike, the company said. The company closed Q1, which ended on Dec 31, with Ft 3.88 billion after-tax profit, up on Ft 1.58 a year earlier. Sales rose to Ft 19.8 billion, Ft 2.1 of which is attributed to the seasonal effect of year-end panic buying. Domestic sales rose 34% to Ft 9.38 billion, whereas exports increased 62% to $55 million.
