Édász becomes private limited company

German power giant E.ON has finally registered its Hungarian unit Édász Rt, the electricity distributor for NW Hungary, as a private limited company, after months of wrangling with small shareholders. Édász was registered on July 19, according to the latest issue of capital market gazette Magyar Tokepiac. E.ON de-listed Édász's shares on December 18, 2005, following a buyout offer. But the small shareholders held up the company's conversion from a public limited company to a private limited company by challenging the Company Court's resolution. The Company Court refused the investors' claims in the end. (Econews; NG 5)
