Hungary wants to be marked on the world?s biotechnology map, Economic Minister János Kóka told Világgazdaság when speaking about his one-week USA visit starting on Saturday. He is to have political negotiations and meet leaders of lobby companies and investors, but emphasis will be laid on biotechnology, IT and entertainment industry. He said it is important that American investments of biotechnological character and with research-and-development aim should be realized in Hungary. The government wish to encourage further developments in biotechnology and bring about a network with Budapest, Debrecen and Szeged as centers. In Philadelphia, at the biggest biotechnological event, Bio 2005 Kóka will also meet Canadian and Australian ministers and company representatives. In Washington he will have a talk with American Energy and Trade Ministers, in Los Angeles with the president of film company Twentieth Century Fox.
