Electricity provider Démász hit a 5-year peak yesterday trading at Ft 18,000 on a strong demand for energy sector papers, business daily Világgazdaság reported. Interest rate cuts and rate cut expectations favor dividend papers. Démász stocks, the only original dividend stocks on the Budapest bourse, traded at the same price in May 2000. The current peak comes on the back of a 2.8% rise. The Szeged-based company staged a rally surpassing the expected inflation figures. Elmű and Émász, two B category electricity providers saw their stock increase by 1.48 % and 0.49 % respectively.
