Délhús stocks up on Szeged salami

Confirming market speculation about the meat industry acquisition plans of OTP Bank Rt President and CEO Sándor Csányi through an indirect majority stake in Délhús Rt, the latter announced that it had purchased 31.21% of salami manufacturer Pick Szeged Rt from Arago Holding Rt, which is owned by Hungarian private investors. According to the announcement, which was placed in the stock market gazette Magyar T?kepiac, Arago has a 63.76% stake left in the company. Prior to the transaction, Arago increased its stake in the meat company to 94.97% by purchasing a 25.75% stake from R-KO-N Kft, a company owned by Gyula Román. In the transaction, Arago essentially repurchased a stake it sold to R-KO-N in August 2004. Román resigned from his seat in the Pick board as of March 16.
