DBR Metro Project Management, a unit within Budapest's public transport company BKV Rt in charge of the Metro 4 subway project, has invited prospective general contractors to submit their application for building three stations along the new line, at Rákóczi tér, Népszínház utca and Keleti train station, business daily Napi Gazdaság reported. DRB will handpick the applicants to be invited to the bidding phase of the tender, with construction scheduled to take place between mid-2006 and early 2009 at a cost of Ft 10.2 billion. Tendering for all but one of the other stations is already underway, and each is estimated to cost Ft 3 billion-Ft 5 billion. As regards the bulkiest part of the whole project - the construction of the tunnel itself - the tender winner will be selected by November of this year if everything goes according to plan.
