A shipment of garments carrying bogus branding, worth Ft 150 million (600,000) was seized at the Vámosszabadi border crossing with Slovakia, the Customs and Excise Office (VPOP) said on Friday. A Hungarian lorry packed with sweaters attempted to enter Hungary with shipment documents indicating a Budapest firm as destination. When checking the consignment, customs officials found that the sweaters bore false trademarks. They also found 1,032 motorcycle jackets that were not included on the bill of lading, and the company listed as the shipment's destination turned out not to exist. Customs officials seized the shipment and have initiated legal proceedings, the VPOP said.
