The EU's Lisbon Strategy targets a sustainable public sector, improved business environment, promotion of innovation, research and development and more jobs in member countries, EU Minister Etele Barath said on Friday, before a conference organized in Budapest. Finance Minister János Veres, who attended the press briefing, said that the government was committed to reducing the public sector and the country's public finance deficit. If related targets are met, Hungary will be able to adopt the euro in 2010, he said. (MTI; NG 2)
