Chemol Travel gets new Danish owner

Danish WECO, member of VIA Travel Group active in Scandinavia, purchased a 26% stake of travel agency Chemol Travel Kft on May 1, 2005. The news was released yesterday at Chemol?s 15th birthday party. WECO purchased the stake from financial investor Monicomp Kft and Chemol?s managing director Péter Hóka and has a further option right to buy all Chemol shares owned by Monicomp. VIA Group is market leader in business travels in Scandinavia. Chemol and VIA Group are both members of Radius, the world?s third largest corporate travel organization. VIA Group plans to expand in Eastern Europe mainly. Chemol was establised in 1990 and has focused on receiving Japanese tourists. The company reported a net revenue of Ft 6.4 billion last year and opened offices in Esztergom besides Budapest.
