Budapest Airport Rt, the operator of Ferihegy Airport, is nearly finished with a Ft 10 billion renovation which will boost capacity at its Terminal 1 to an annual 2m-2.5m passengers, daily Magyar Hírlap reported. But already the company is making plans to build an addition onto its Terminal 2. Budapest Airport has already called a tender to prepare a feasibility study and a blueprint for Terminal 2/C, which would have an annual capacity of 5m-5.5m passengers. A winner is expected to be announced in the autumn, Budapest Airport's development director Antal Nemeth said yesterday. Passenger traffic at Ferihegy could reach an annual 10m by 2008 or 2009, Nemeth said. By that time Terminal 2/C needs to be completed.
