Bidders enter detailed offers in EDR radio tender

All the three consortiums that submitted indicative offers in June, filed detailed documentation by yesterday's deadline in the second round of a tender to set up and operate the unified digital radio system (EDR), a radio network to be used exclusively by the emergency and security services. According to Napi Gazdaság, all the three consortia, T-Mobile Hungary Rt and Magyar Telekom Rt; MVM Rt and Saab Contracting AB Contracting AB; and Antenna Hungária Rt and Siemens Rt. put in similar offers for maintenance, in the region of Ft10 billion a year. Valued at an estimated Ft 25 billion-Ft 45 billion, the EDR network is scheduled to come online in Budapest early next year and become available nationwide by 2007. (NG 4, Nv 12) S.F.
