UK-based British Home Stores (Bhs) is negotiating with potential franchise partners in Hungary, hitherto without much success, business daily Világgazdaság reported. The British retail chain, which operates 170 stores, has contacted several industry organizations and potential partners, but has not been able to sign an agreement yet, according to the newspaper. Bhs does not want to rush the decision to enter the Hungarian market. Hungary proved a difficult playing field for Debenhams, another British department store chain that was forced to leave the market after a two-year presence.
