Austrian Airlines to fly from Pécs

Austrian Airlines (AUA) will add a Vienna-Pécs flight to its 2006 summer timetable, becoming the first airline to start scheduled flights at the Pécs-Pogányi airport (SE Hungary), national daily Népszabadság. Pécs will be the 12th city in Central and Eastern Europe AUA flies to. The Pécs flights will be offered in addition to four daily flights between Vienna and Budapest. AUA's load factor on these flights was 56% in the first eight months of 2005, 1.5 percentage points more than in the same period a year earlier. In January-August this year, AUA carried 55,944 passengers on the flights, compared to 88,544 passengers during all of 2004, AUA's sales manager in Hungary Dóra Herz said.
