The Magyar Telekom group collects Ft 17 billion-Ft 18 billion in monthly fees on the fixed-line business market, thus claiming roughly two-thirds of the entire market. Hungary?s three mobile operators hold a combined 42% of the same market ? Tamás Andrási, business development director of BellResearch said at the BBJ?s Telecom Conference on Wednesday.
A recent survey by the market research company shows that the number of enterprises with a fixed-line business subscription fell 1-2 percentage points compared to the same period of 2004. Fixed-line coverage is currently 70% with respect to company premises, which means that some 219,000 business organizations have a fixed-line business subscription.
While only 7,000-8,000 companies subscribed to alternative fixed-line operators last year, their number has increased to 20,000 in 2005. This intensive growth is primarily driven by Tele2. Although Tele2 has the third largaesst subscriber base among operators in Hungary, their revenue-based share of the fixed-line business telephony market is only 1%, compared to
Magyar Telekom?s 76%.
The fixed-line business telephony market is valued at Ft 10 billion-Ft 11 billion a month.
