The 26-year-old Hungarian who recently hacked into Ericcson?s and Sony Ericcson?s network in Sweden has been sentenced to three years in prison. The charge was industrial espionage. Swedish court said the act posed a threat to Swedish national security, and the stolen data could have been misused. The Hungarian hacker tried to sell the stolen information, which were found in his apartment on DVD?s and CD?s. The hacker tried to excuse himself by saying he merely intended to point out security gaps in the corporate IT systems, claiming he was unaware of acquiring confidential information.
