250 new selective waste container islands

Budapest Public Maintenance (FKF) Rt will place 250 new selective waste container islands in various parts of Budapest in the coming weeks, department head Mihály Siklósi said. After the project Budapest will have 600 such islands and waste selection will be available for more than one million people in Budapest who will not have to walk more than 300 meters to the closest containers, Siklósi said. Budapest inhabitants produce 500,000 tons of waste annually, half of which could be recycled through the spread of islands, Siklósi said. (Wed. Vg 8) M.K.
