2004 industrial producer price stats - KSH

December saw a 0.4% decline in domestic industrial producer prices on the previous month, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported. Producer prices over the entire year 2004 were 8.4% higher than in 2003. The price level of industrial producers? December export sales dropped 0.6% on November, while the annual average went 0.4% down yr/yr. The key factors with an impact on the price of industrial products throughout the year included oil and steel price fluctuations in global markets, rising fuel costs and Hungary?s EU-accession in May, with the latter mostly influencing prices in the food industry. Export prices were typically determined by fluctuating forint rates.
