One-third of Hungarian Facebook users cut back
In its study of some 1,292 Facebook users, including 1,192 aged 13 to 25, FacebookTippek.hu found that 31% of young people using the biggest social media site say that it is becoming boring, while other reasons of reduced use include the presence of advertisements as well as concerns for the safety of personal data.
FacebookTippek further reported that, of those decreasing Facebook time, the great majority were among those who had been registered with the ‘site for two to three years.
The world’s most popular social media website would appear to have little to fear vis-à-vis its Hungarian presence in the short term, however, as 41% in the survey reported more time spent on Facebook recently, including 27% saying they had seriously increased their use of the ‘site.
Also noted in the survey results were that young people most typically use Facebook via smartphones, followed by laptops and desktop computers.
