Westend opens food terraces
Shopping Center Westend opened two new food terraces on Saturday, at its Ferdinánd and Kabos entrances in order to allow customers to enjoy food and drinks while complying with the COVID regulations currently in place, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
Westend Terraces are open daily from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., with tables and seating available in accordance with the epidemiological regulations (a minimum distance of one and a half meters between guests). Hand sanitizer will be also provided in these areas.
In addition, the mall's catering establishments that have their own terraces (Okay Italia, Vapiano and Starbucks) are also welcoming visitors.
"We can all see and feel how difficult the situation has been for catering establishments during the epidemic. We have been and are in constant consultation with restaurant and café operators, so as soon as the weather and the epidemic situation allows, we will help restaurants to open as soon as we can. Our food terraces will act as a replacement for the indoor food court, so that food and drinks purchased indoors can be safely consumed on the terrace in accordance with regulations. We hope that this will make Westend a more popular choice for our visitors and help our tenants to increase their turnover after the restrictions," said Orsolya Kovács, marketing director of Westend.
In addition, the shopping center also announced that its rooftop garden will open in mid-May, awaiting visitors with a revamped look and new features such as an outdoor fitness park. Events held in the garden will include picnics, festivals, and outdoor EURO 2020 match viewings. "Workplace", Westend's popular community office space, will also be relocated to the rooftop garden.
