Nestlé to buy more than 100 tons of Hungarian paprika

Food

Swiss food giant Nestlé will buy more than 100 tons of Hungarian paprika this year for about €400,000, Nestlé Hungária told MTI on Monday.

Hungarian-owned Rubin Szegedi Paprikafeldolgozó is delivering the paprika, which will go into Nestlé's Maggi products made for eight countries in Europe. Alone in Hungary, about 800 tonnes of the Maggi products containing paprika will be put on store shelves.

Maggi accounts for more than 54% of bouillon cube sales in Hungary.

Rubin Szegedi Paprikafeldolgozó has been delivering paprika to Nestlé since 2006. The company, which employs 40 people, sold more than 1,000 tons of paprika last year.
