According to Mastercard's annual survey, the proportion of mobile bank users exceeded 50% among cardholders for the first time, writes origo.hu.
Although traditional administration has been hampered by the pandemic, data shows that the popularity of mobile banking has been growing for years. Two years ago, only 13% of those surveyed used such an app, a rate that by 2020 had reached 56%.
In terms of age group, young people (18-34 years old) are the most active, around 65%, but this figure is also close to 50% in the oldest age group studied (50-64 years old).
"A service provider who makes such innovative features available to his [or her] customers can easily gain a competitive advantage," said Endre Eölyüs, Mastercard's director for Hungary and Slovenia.
