MNB intʼl reserves up EUR 1.13 bln in March

International reserves of the National Bank of Hungary (MNB) stood at EUR 27.475 billion at the end of February, up EUR 1.131 bln from the end of the previous month, state news agency MTI reported, citing preliminary data released on Friday.

The reserves were up EUR 72 million from the end of 2018.

In February, currency reserves, which include currency, deposits and securities, stood at EUR 25.515 bln, up EUR 827 mln from the previous month, while other reserve assets, which contain financial derivatives, receivables on active repo transactions, and loans to non-bank non-residents, increased EUR 312.8 mln to EUR 423 mln. 

Monetary gold reserves stood at EUR 1.166 bln, down EUR 11.5 mln from the previous month. Reserve positions at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) were up EUR 3.4 mln at EUR 371 mln, while the value of SDRs at the IMF was unchanged at EUR 1 mln.
