Hungarian Money Week program celebrates 5th year

The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) Monday launched the fifth Pénz7, a program attached to the European Money Week and Global Money Week initiatives, which seeks to make Hungarian primary and secondary school students more financially savvy.

So far this year, some 200,000 students at around 1,200 schools have participated in the Pénz7 program, Zoltán Maruzsa, deputy state secretary for education, was cited as saying by state news agency MTI. Those numbers are up from 90,000 students in 660 schools in the first year of the program, in 2015, he added.

Strengthening the financial knowledge of households and businesses contributes to increasing the countryʼs financial stability, said MNB Deputy Governor László Windisch.
