9,011 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 134,652, with 9,011 new cases and 130 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 16,627.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 498,183 up from 489,172 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 346,904.

Currently, 8,718 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 949 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 3,992,790 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 48,677 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 94,770. Pest County is the second most affected, with 66,969 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (28,666 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 48,919.

Until now, 1,229,827 people have been vaccinated, and 351,694 of them have already received the second dose as well.
