8,863 new coronavirus cases registered in Hungary

The number of active coronavirus cases in Hungary stands at 147,647, with 8,863 new cases and 162 new deaths registered since yesterday, according to data by government coronavirus information site koronavirus.gov.hu.

The death toll stands at 16,952.

The total number of confirmed cases stands at 516,490 up from 507,627 yesterday.

The number of recoveries has risen to 351,891.

Currently, 8,764 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, 1,005 of whom are on ventilators.

So far 4,076,943 tests have been conducted at accredited laboratories. Some 48,329 people are currently in compulsory home quarantine.

Looking at all diagnosed cases until now, Budapest remains the most affected area of the entire country, with the number of cases (both active and inactive) reaching 98,435. Pest County is the second most affected, with 69,485 cases, followed by Győr-Moson-Sopron County (29,875 cases).

The number of curfew violations registered by authorities throughout the country so far has reached 49,934.

Until now, 1,319,266 people have been vaccinated, and 392,703 of them have already received the second dose as well.
