Electricity grid operator Mavir Rt will connect a high-voltage 400 kV transmission line between a substation in Szombathely and a switching system in Győr in northwest Hungary on September 14, network manager Gábor Tari said on Monday.
The line and connecting points were built at a cost of Ft 14 billion. The switching system in Győr will allow for cross-border capacity between Hungary and Slovakia to rise from 1,000 MW to 1,300 MW, Tari said. With the new 90-kilometer section, the length of Hungary's high-voltage network will exceed 2,000 kilometers, he said.
