Vác cement factory becomes environment-friendly
Duna-Dráva Cement Kft., widely known as the Vác Cement Factory, says it has invested HUF 7 billion in renovating the factory to improve its sustainability and environmental protection. As a result of the project, the living conditions of the nearby population will also improve.
The investment is the most important project of Duna-Dráva Cement in the period between 2016 and 2018. Following the reconstruction, dust emissions have significantly decreased, says a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal.
A new filter system ensures that even in the event of a malfunction or power outage, the dust is contained and does not damage the environment. The newly renovated factory was inaugurated on May 18.
Duna-Dráva Cement’s parent company, HeidelbergCement Group, has made reducing its ecological footprint a strategic goal.
The Hungarian company had revenues of more than HUF 44 bln in 2016, business news portal portfolio.hu reported.
