Paks II, the project company for the upgrade of Hungaryʼs sole commercial nuclear power plant, has published a redacted copy of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the investment, Hungarian news agency MTI reports, citing daily Magyar Nemzet.
Originally, the contract for the construction of two more blocks at the plant, signed in 2014 by Paks II and Nizhny Novgorod Engineering Company Atomenergoproekt (NIAEP-ASE), a unit of Russiaʼs Rosatom, was to have remained classified for a period of 30 years.
The sections on "work execution periods and completion dates", "contract price and payment terms and procedure", "liquidated damages", "general limitation of liability", "project schedule", "authority approvals and technical documentation", and "termination" have been redacted from the document.
