Visiting minister anticipates Azeri gas to reach Europe within a year
Azeri gas is likely to be on the European market within a year, Azeri Minister of Economy and Industry Shahin Mustafayev said at a joint press conference with Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó in Budapest yesterday, MTI news agency reported.
While everything else concerning the diversification of Europeʼs gas supply is part of a long-term plan, there is no question that gas will come to Europe from Azerbaijan, Szijjártó said, following a two-day meeting of the Hungarian-Azeri joint economic committee.
Azeri gas could potentially reach Europe via the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP), running through Turkey, and the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), via Greece, Szijjártó added.
