History

The United Kingdom’s Royal Air Force (RAF) deployed a C-17 strategic transport aircraft to Hungary to conduct night-flight training, airforce-technology.com reported today.

The RAF’s 99 squadron is set to practice with night vision goggles at the Hungarian Air Force’s Pápa base, which can provide clear airspace and specialist lighting capabilities, according to the website.

The pilots involved have praised the Hungarian support for their deployment, entitled Exercise Hungary Puma, and flight lieutenant Ben Moutfield noted that the facility offers, “a fantastic opportunity for us to train at an airfield specifically designed for C-17s”, according to airforce-technology.com.
