Telenor Magyarország acquires new frequencies

Hungary's National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) announced today that it signed a contract on frequencies with Telenor Magyarország, the Hungarian subsidiary of Norwegian telecoms giant Telenor, after Telenor won the frequencies in a tender.

Telenor Magyarország won a single frequency package for HUF 31.7 bln and committed to a payment of HUF 2.5 bln in fees.

The current contract was also the final to be signed among the four winners in the tender. The other three winners are Magyar Telekom, the Hungarian subsidiary of German telecoms giant Deutsche Telekom, Vodafone and Romanian telecoms company Digi.
