Szijjártó: South Korean to boost car industry
The Hungarian government expects South Korean companies to boost developments in Hungary’s car industry, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said following talks with his counterpart Yun Byung-se in Seoul today. This meeting was part of a series of talks being held during a visit from Hungarian Prime Minister and his delegation of officials to the Republic of South Korea.
According to Szijjártó, the two countries have a shared interest in developing economic cooperation, and he noted that Hungary has a vested interest in such projects as South Korean companies applying state-of-the-art technologies in both the car and electronics industries. He added that talks are under way on several projects.
Hungarian news agency MTI reported that the Republic of South Korea seeks to intensify cooperation with the Visegrád Four which icludes the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, and a meeting of the five countries is currently being planned.
The two sides jointly agreed that the Ukrianian conflict should be solved through negotiations as soon as possible in order to return to the old form of economic cooperation in line with the interests of both Hungary and South Korea.
